The Chief food cows, horses, sheep and men is the same. they all eat grass. these animals eat the leaves of grass. we eat the seeds. corn is a king of gass. we grind its seeds into flour. of corn flour we make bread and brind its seeds into flour. fo corn flour we make bread and bread is our chieff of liff food. bread is called  ” the staff  of life” in india corn is arabi. or spring crop. the seed is sown in the cold weather. the hsrvest is  reaped in marchor April. when the corn has deeh reaped, it is threshed. the seeds are beatan out of their husksd, arhard coverings. then the corn is winhowsed. the seeds and dry husks are tossed up in the wind. thewind blows away the light husks. ar chaff. the heavy  seeds are lett behind. theseeds then gop to  the miller. he grinds them into flloar the baker makes loarves of bread with yhe flour.

The story of sigiriya

     A  long  time   ago  a   king  called  dhatusena  ruled  in Anuradapura,  He  had  two  sons  named  moggalana  and  kasyapa .  kasyapa  was  younger  than  moggalana  but  he  wanted  to  become  king  first,  so  he  killed  his  father  and  became  king.  So kayapa ran a way from anuradhapura and built a beautiful palae on top of a rock so that nobody could catch him and kill him. This rosk was called sigiriya. He built many beautiul byildings on sigiriwa and painted beautiful pictures on te sides of the rock. Even now we can see some of these pctures and some ruins of the buildings.

                                                                                             A  long  time  ago  Ravana   was  the   king  of  Lanka.  He  was  a  very  powerful   king.  At  that time   prnce  rama and

nce  rama  and  his  beautiful  wife  liied  in  a forest      in  india. Ravana  come  to  hear  how  very  beautiful  sita  was. He  wanted  to  make  her   wife  so  he  went  in to  

the  forest  where  sit. Alived  and  took  her  away  When  rama  was  not  there. He  brought  her  to  his  palace  in  lanka. in  a  fiying  chaviot  shaped  like  a  peacock.

Rama   searched  everywhere   for  his  wife  his  brother  Laksman  and  hanuman ,the  monky  king.at  last  hanuman  found    sita  at  ravana’s  palace  in  lanka. he  went  back  

to  give  the  news  to  rama  but  befour  going  back  he  set  fire  to  many  towns  and  villages  in  rawana’s  king   dom.                                                                             

                          Rama  got  together  a  l arge  avmy  and  went    back  to  lanka  to  ravana. they  crossed  the  sea  on  a  stone  bridge  build  by  hanuman. rama’s 

army  met  ravana’s  trmy and  there was a great battle between them.many solders and neroes on both sides died in the fight. rama’s army at last. atter the defeat of ravana,rama.tok sita dack to lndia.

 butterfly is  an insect. It has four legs. It has no bones. Butterfly has no teeth. It has two pairs of wings. The wings of the butterfly are very beautiful. It is a colourful bird. There are eyes all  over the wings. Butterfly  is a harmless animal. It collects  nectar from flowers. that is  them food. Butterflies are multy coloured. They look like flowers. Butterflies are becoming less  and less in number in every year. They are extincting insects. we must protect those harmless beautiful butterflies. MY country

My country is sri lanka.it is an island. it is a small country. My country is ever- green. it is fertle. The main commercial corps in sri lanka are tea, coconut and rubber. The people in our country  are clever. they are famous throught the world.The anciant cities like Anuradapura, Polonnaruwa and Kandy add a cultcural and historical value to my country. I’m froud to be a Sri lanka.
